Description
Therapeutic hypothermia has a protective effect on vital organs, reduces the speed and intensity of metabolic processes, reducing the need for oxygen in tissues.
Indications for use:
- Cardiac arrest (postresuscitation diseas)
- Traumatic brain injury
- Stroke
- Hepatic encephalopathy
- Fever resistant to medicated treatment
- ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI)
The technology of the ArcticSun 5000 system provides the most accurate level of patient temperature control with controlled hypothermia at present.
Monitoring the patient’s body temperature at a frequency of 40 times per second.
Automatic temperature control of the liquid coolant (distilled water).
Full and continuous contact of the hydrogel-based heat exchange membrane with the patient’s skin.
The Arctic Sun 5000 system maintains the desired body temperature by circulating water in the channels of the cuffs and imitates the effect of immersing the patient’s body in water — the so-called “water immersion”.
The Arctic Sun 5000 allows to maintain the normal body temperature of patients during long operations, preventing the body from cooling.
The new intuitive touch screen interface allows the doctor to quickly start the procedure in a few simple steps.
Compared to other thermal systems, the Arctic Sun 5000 provides:
The fastest start of circulation
The simplest software settings
Easy access to data from the treatment procedure
The complete built-in ArcticGel cuff training module is a key component that sets the ArcticSun 5000 apart from other cooling methods available on the market.
ArcticGel cuffs have a thin coating of a hydrogel, which provides the most complete and continuous contact of the cuff with the patient’s skin during the procedure. Such a tight contact of the cuff with the skin of the patient provides highly effective and rapid heat transfer.
To start the procedure, it is necessary to place the cuffs on the patient’s body (two on the body and two on the legs). This technique is non-invasive, therefore it is as safe as possible.
The ArcticSun system allows you to start the procedure very quickly — it takes less than 10 minutes to place the cuffs on the patient’s body. The cuffs are located in such a way as not to interfere with the formation of vascular access and patient care. The system does not interfere with: defibrillation, cardiac catheterization, fluoroscopy, median thoracotomy and can be used during most cardiac surgeries. If the cuffs are damaged, water will not leak from the system.
